⇒ The main function of stomata is the gaseous exchanges between atmosphere and plants.

⇒ The opening and closing of the pores in the stomata is the function of guard cells.

⇒ If the guard cells swell , when the water is on the surface of the leaf results in the opening of the stomata.

⇒Similarly , the pores closes if guard cells shrink.
