OPENING OF STOMATA ;-

Stomata are the tiny pores present on the epidermal surface of the leaves.

⇒ The main function of stomata is the gaseous exchanges between atmosphere and plants.

The opening and closing of the pores in the stomata is the function of guard cells.

If the guard cells swell , when the water is on the surface of the leaf results in the opening of the stomata.

Similarly , the pores closes if guard cells shrink.
