When we throw a feather and a stone from same height and with same force, the stone touches the ground first and the feather second because the weight of the stone is more than the upthrust of the air so it goes down faster but as the weight of the feather is less than the upthrust of the air, it goes down much slower. And it is so light that even the slightest wind can blow it away.

This is because of friction in air.The feather has more surface area than the stone.So,air opposes the motion of the feather more than the motion of the stone
