The gas is carbon dioxide, produced by acid - base reaction between calcium carbonate and acetic acid. It can be identified with a simple test with limewater.

Answer:

CH3COOH+ CaCO3 --- CH3COOCa + H2O +CO2

CO2 gas is produced which can be tested by passing it through calcium hydroxide, if it turns milky white, then it is CO2!

Hope it helps!
