Hey friend,

Here's your answer,

Work can either be positive or negative.

If the displacement in an object is opposite to the direction of the force applied, the work done is negative.

E.g. The work done by a gravitational force in climbing the tree.

Similarly,

When the displacement in an object is in the direction of the force applied, the work done is said to be positive.

E.g. When a body falls freely under the force of gravity from a height.

Hope this helps!!!!

HI!!

HERE IZ UR ANSWER.

Work done is force*displacement.
If either of both is 0, then it is not considered to be as work.

Work is of three types:-

1. Positive
2. Negative
3. Zero

Positive when the direction of displacement of object is in the direction of force applied.
for ex - If you kick the ball which is stationery, then it will go where u kicked.

Negative is when the direction of displacement is opposite of force applied.
for ex - A fast moving ball is coming and u applied little force but then also it will go where it was going.

Zero work done example - If u apply force to wall, it won't move. So displacement 0 and work done is also 0.

HOPE IT HELPS!!
