when we react chlorobenzene with mg and dry Ether then no reaction takes place but when we react bromobenzene with mg and dry Ether it converts into Grignard reagent why

There may be two reasons.
First, chloride ion has much smaller size than bromide ion. This causes difficulty in removing the chloride ion from benzene because of shorter, compact bonds which are more difficult to break than longer, weaker bonds of Bromine.
Second, chloride ion has a much greater -I effect than bromine, the above statement being the cause.

Chlorobenzene + 2Na(in presence of dry ether) -------->Benzene + 2NaCl
