When we “suck” using a straw, the liquid travels up into it. Explain why?

Because of air pressure. mean that when we suck any liquid from a straw we take in air and because the straw is in the liquid so with the air liquid also comes in our mouth

This is because of the air pressure. We know that the straw has air even though it is dipped in the liquid. When we try to suck the liquid in the glass with the help of the straw firstly we will suck the air which is present in the straw and then the liquid would be followed by the the air. Therefore i conclude that this happens because of a process know as air pressure.
