It should be "cramps" not crams.
When we do heavy exercise, the demand for energy by our muscles is more than the supply of oxygen to produce energy. So, anaerobic respiration (respiration in the absence of oxygen) takes place in our muscles which produces lactic acid along with energy. Accumulation of this lactic acid results in muscle cramps.

when we do vigorous exercise our leg muscle respire anaerobically to produce extra energy .therefore anaerobic respiration takes place (absence of oxygen) because of this lactic acid get accumulated in our muscles and we get cramps
