Burning of wool is a test for proving the material . WOOL is obtained from hair of sheep . Thus , it smells like burning hair . Cotton after refining and converting into a textile , if we burn it to test , it will smell like burning paper. Paper, a plant product and converted by humans and it same goes for cotton textile . Thus cotton being a plant product and human made it smells like burning paper

Hey Sister/ Broda
It's a simple thing .....cotton is a type of fibre that we get from plant and it comtains charbohydrates so when cotton is burnt we get a smell da smell of burning paper....and wool is obtained from animals i.e it contains animal protein....wool being made up of protein molecules they smell like hair when burnt...as cotton n paper are from plants they have da same property n they smell similar when burnt.... and wool n hair r found in animals they smell similar when burnt .
