The first part of the nephron that is responsible for water reabsorption is the proximal convoluted tubule. Filtered fluid enters the proximal tubule from Bowman's capsule. Many substances that the body needs, which may have been filtered out of the blood at the glomerulus, are reabsorbed into the body in this segment.

"Ultra filtration arises in renal corpuscles of the kidney. Approximately, 20% of plasma amount is filtered through the Glomerulus. Filtration occurs due to hydraulic coercion in Glomerulus.

Re-absorption of essential salts and nutrients occurs at the renal tubules. Bulk re absorption is mostly seen in proximal tubule. Regulated re absorption is seen in the distal tubule and collecting ducts.

Secretion is again seen in the renal tubules. It inflates the kidney’s capability to exterminate various types of toxins.
