Ribosomes can be found attached to the Rough Endoplasmic Reticulum(RER) or can be found freely in the cytoplasm. The main function of it is protein synthesis.

Ribosome can be found attached to the rough endoplasmic reticulum which is in fact called RER because of the presence of ribosome and they can also be found scattered in the cytoplasm.

The main biological function of ribosome is that they help in the protein synthesis.
