The Great Red Spot is a persistent high-pressure region in the atmosphere of Jupiter, producing an anticyclonic storm 22° south of theplanet's equator.

Great red spot is located in the Jupiter’s atmosphere, the fifth planet of solar system.

It is a high-pressure region making anticyclonic storm which is 22o south of the equator of the planet.

It is detected for 188 years right from the year 1830.

However, such storms are not rare within the tempestuous atmosphere of the planet.
