The site, Latitude 35°54' N, Longitude 75°60' E, is situated 41 km southeast of Srinag near the Tahsil town of Trai in the Pulwama District of Jammu and Kashmir State.

It is famous as from here iron was introduced in Kashmir.The earliest evidence of use of iron was found here.
