The Alpine forests occur all along the Himalayas at altitudes ranging between 2,900 to 3,500 m or even up-to 3800 m above sea level, depending upon the location and the variety of species. The moist deciduous forests are found in the regions, which record rainfall between 100 and 200 cm. The moist deciduous forests are found along the foothills of the Himalayas, eastern slopes of the Western Ghats, and Odisha. The Eastern Himalayan subalpine conifer forests is a temperate coniferous forests ecoregion which is found in the middle and upper elevations of the eastern Middle Himalayas, in western Nepal, Bhutan and northern Indian states including Arunachal Pradesh
