Pressure is greater 20m below the surface of sea , the pressure increases as you go deeper in it. For every 10m you go deeper pressures increases by 14 psi.

PRESSURE IS GREATER AT 20 METRES DEPTH.

But why ?

  • The general expression of hydrostatic pressure at a depth 'h' from the surface of liquid is given as :

 \boxed{P =  \rho \times g \times h}

  • \rho is the density of liquid, g is gravity.

For constant density and gravity, we can say:

 \boxed{P  \propto h}

So, greater the depth, more will be the pressure.

  • So, at 20 metres below water surface, the pressure will be higher.
