The distance of equator to the core of Earth is comparitevely large than the rest. So, according to the inverse relation of acceleration due to Earth's gravity (g) and distance (d) the g will be less as the equator than the less.

And the mass is constant at every place, the weight at four place is given by :-

  • Weight at poles = M × g_{poles}
  • Weight at equator = M × g_{equator}
  • Weight at 45° latitude = M × g_{45}
  • Weight at 40° latitude = M × g_{40}

and, due to inverse relation between distance and acceleration due to gravity,

At poles, the circumference is 39,940.653 km and around the equator, it is 40,075.017 km. Therefore,

g_{poles} >  g_{45} > g_{40}  > g_{equator}

So, if we multiply something with less, the result will be less.

Hence the weight at the equator less and it will be beneficial to buy 1KG of sugar at equator
