Answer:

There are two contractile proteins, Actin (thin/light filament) and Myosin (Thick/dark filament)

Actin filament or F-actin is a polymeric form of G- actin (globular actin). G- actins in the presence of Mg^{2+} forms polymeric, filamentous, F-actin.

In addition, F-actin is enveloped by long protein, Tropomyosin, and small three unit troponin, to hide/mask myosin binding sites, when muscles are at rest.

Myosin, is a polymeric form of Mero-myosin, with its two components, HMM and LMM.

HMM- Heavy Mero Myosin - comprises of, its globular head and short arm. Globular head has ATP and Actin binding sites.

LMM- Light Mero Myosin- comprises of the tail, which curls upon others, to form a thick filament.

Hope that helps.
