Answer:

I would prefer late afternoon to early evening, but don’t always have a choice. I first began taking yoga in 2009, and weight training in 2014. Classes for yoga are often taught much earlier in the day than I would like. I personally hate classes that start before 10 or 11 am. I tend to prefer classes that start between around 3:30 pm - 6 pm, as there is a lot of traffic at school and I have become a late afternoon to evening to night person as a retiree. I find it difficult to get up at 5 am as I used to do in order to be at work in a timely fashion. I even try to set medical appointments no earlier than 11 am.

I also prefer doing exercise either in a class or with a friend. I have a (slightly flexible) standing appointment with a friend to do yoga once a week. Depending on how I am feeling, we work out for around 70 - 90 minutes. I prefer taking weight training classes and have been utilizing the skills and advice of my professor at the local community college since sometime in 2014. I have taken various classes with her, and she has never steered me wrong.

I was once a morning person. Now I tend to be more of an afternoon to evening person—for pretty much everything.

As long as you exercise on a routine basis, and hydrate, those factors are more important than the time I exercise. For me, being in a class or working out with someone keeps me more committed and motivated. My professor is on us about proper technique, and as a senior who is retired, I am happy to pay fees without tuition at the local college.

Select something that you are willing to do on a regular basis. Work at it without doing yourself serious injury. Whether you work out at home, a gym, school, work, etc. choose something that gives you some satisfaction, Set realistic goals for yourself. You will be more likely to stick with something if you like it or at least get satisfaction with each goal that you reach.
