✨Carbon has great reactivity or affinity for oxygen than copper. Therefore, it can reduce Copper oxide to Copper. On the other hand , carbon has less afinity for oxygen than Calcium and , therefore, it cannot reduce Calcium oxide to Calcium ✨..
