T.S Eliot says that the winter evening settles down.


We understand from this line that the poet is talking about a busy day has made the people relax a little in the evening.


Poets make use of many figurative speeches through out their poems in order to enrich the poem.


There is no particular figurative speech in the first line however we see many more in the remaining stanzas
