chlorine has highest electron affinity as we move down in halogens electron affinity decreases as effect of nuclear charge decreases because of increase in size but in case of fluorine it has 7 valence electrons in small space so it has high electron density this causes repulsion of electrons so chlorine has highest electron affinity
