Which is more polar- CO_{2} or N_{2}O? Give reason?

Hey here it is,


N2O is more polar because in CO2 the resultant dipole movement are equal and opposite and hence they cancel each other so the net dipole moment is zero.

Carbon dioxide C{ O }_{ 2 } is symmetrical and linear.The net dipole moment of Carbon dioxide is zero.

Whereas the Nitric Oxide { N }_{ 2 }O is non-symmetrical but it is linear. And the net dipole moment of nitric acid is 116D.

Due to the linear and non-symmetrical property of Nitric Oxide { N }_{ 2 }O, it is more stable than the Carbon dioxide C{ O }_{ 2 }.
