Doing the long division method we get 168 as remainder and 88 as quotient.

The remainder is 168.hence 88²<7912

The next perfect square number is 89²=7921>7912

Hence the number to be added is 7921-7912=9

Therefore 9 must be added to 7912 to get a perfect square.

Hope this answer helps
