There are quite a few metals which can not be stored in packets.

For example - Mercury, Sodium and Potassium.

As Sodium is an extremely reactive metal and it quickly undergoes reaction coming in contact with air or H2O (water or moisture) and burns violently and can explode, so it must be stored in a proper air tight container.
