 \bold{Answer\;:-}

Maximum number of molecules are in c. 1 g of H2

Given :-

• Mass of the compounds, m = 1 g

• Molecular mass of the compounds, M =

› 44 u = CO2

› 28 u = N2

› 2 u = H2

› 32 u = C2H8

To find :-

• Number of moles, n = ?

• Number of molecules, N = ?

Formulas :-

• Moles = Mass / Molecular mass

• Molecules = Moles / Avogadro's number

Solution :-

a. 1 g of CO2 :-

n = 1 / 44

• N = 6.023*10²³/44 molecules

N = 0.136*10²³ molecules

b. 1 g of N2 :-

n = 1/28

N = 6.023*10²³/28 molecules

N = 0.215*10²³ molecules

c. 1 g of H2 :-

n = 1/2

• N = 6.023*10²³/2 molecules

N = 3.011*10²³ molecules

d. 1 g of CH4CH4 :-

n = 1/32

• N = 6.023*10²³/32 molecules

N = 0.188*10²³ molecules
