Solution: the correct answer for this is option 3 that is limestone.


Limestone is used as a flux in the blast furnace.


When limestone is added into it, the temperature of the furnace converts it into the calcined lime which consequently reduces the liquids temperature of the impurities and help removing the impurities from the furnace.
