lets take an example if a cricket ball ,is thrown it has certain speed at what its travelling so speed over here is nothing but momentum and momentum ::: mass × velocity . so if the ball is stable and not thrown the velocity of the ball will be 0 because velocity is displacement / time ...so this is the equation
the velocity is 0
and lets take mass 2 kg ( the ball)
formula of momentum =mass×velocity
0 × 2kg= 0
so we can say the average speed ( which is momemtum) can be zero under certain circumstances
