It is the cell wall which protects the cell from bursting due to osmosis in dilute external medium!!

It is the cell wall which protects the cell from bursting due to osmosis in dilute external medium.

When the cell becomes turgid by placing in a hypotonic solution, it exerts pressure and the cell wall exerts equal pressure on it and prevents bursting of the cell
