Judging from my perspective, as a Product Designer, I think that building a great interface that goes alongside good cause is actually something that can help in long-term.
Imagine that city bikes have an awfully difficult process to rent them – rebuilding it with great user-experience patterns in mind and speeding up the process would most likely bring more people in. I bet that in a matter of years it will help.
To sum things up: at first sight, art and design are not helpful, but when we dig into the topic, we suddenly realise that it is actually something bringing us towards the bigger goal.
