The Indian Subcontinent consists of the peninsular region that of South-Central Asia.

It is surrounded by the Himalayas in the north and Arakanese right in the east with Hindu Kush in the western region.

The countries included are India, Nepal, Maldives, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Sri Lanka and Pakistan.

It is situated on the Indian Plate and projects south into the Indian Ocean.

This region merged with the Eurasian plate leaving Gondwana almost 55 million years earlier.
