Intransitive verbs refer to a verb which does not have a direct object like transitive verbs. Secondly, intransitive verbs include the verb which expresses action for example go, run, sit etc.

For example,

We arrived at the station when the train left.

Herein verb 'arrived' is an intransitive verb.

Therefore, sentence which has an intransitive verb is B. Last night a puck hit the referee.

Intransitive verbs are just the action words in a sentence that does not take a direct object. There may be a group of words or phrases followed by the verb in a sentence. If those words answer the question of how the action has been done or how it is received, then it is said to be an intransitive verb.

The answer is A. Ice hockey is an exciting sport.

Moreover, this sentence does not have an object whereas all the other sentences have objects after the verb.
