In a given Question.

Here a = 17 and d =( 16 - 17 ) = -1
Let the nth term of the given Ap be the first negative term.

Than , Tn < 0

=> {a + ( n - 1 ) d} < 0

=> { 17 + ( n - 1 ) × ( -1 ) } < 0

=> ( 18 - n ) < 0

=> n < 19

=> n = 19

Hence , the 19th term is the first negative term of the given A.P
