no matter the background,NASA wants it's astronauts to have atleast a bachelor's degree in engineering, biological science, physical science,mathematics.
once selected as an astronaunt candidate,they must spend 2 years in a training programme before officially qualifying to be called an astronaunt.Then 4-10years working in various NASA departments before getting assigned a flight.Then another 2-3 years for training for the flight.
steps to follow
1)after 10th take science stream (pcm) and start preparation for JEE so that you can take admission in best engineering college.its better to take admission in IIST(Indian Institute of Space science and technology) which is closer to ISRO and go for aerospace engineering
2)by this you will become an engineering scientist in ISRO.do job for 2-3 years in ISRO
most importantly you have to qualify their medical check up
visual acuity20÷20
BP 140÷90
height 62 and 75 inches
