The most widespread religion in India was Bhaktism .

Bhakti means devotion to God.

It was preached by saints called Bhakti saints.

Some Bhakti saints composed poems or wrote proses for the God.

They preached that devotion comes from within the heart.

It does not depend on ritual and other stuff.
