While using iodine in the laboratory some drops of iodine fell On RACHEL’S Socks and some fell on his teacher suit. The drops of iodine on the suite turn blue black while their Colour did not change on the socks what can be the possible reason

Answer:

Saree is made up of cotton. So naturally it contains starch. So when iodine reacts with starch it changes it's colour to black blue.

On the other hand socks are made of artificial fibres like rayon which don't react with iodine. So it colour doesn't change
