We were traveling along the slopes of the mighty Western Ghats. The entire range was looking so fresh and lush with greenery everywhere. There were deep valleys along the slope that looked just serene and eternally beautiful with nature at its glory.
But to our shock, we could see a long stretch of a forest fire along one side of the valley. It was such drastic sight from what we glimpsed earlier. It was painful to see the trees and bushes getting burnt in the fire and smoke bellowing around the area. I was wondering about any animals that could live in that area and worried about their safety.
Slowly, the fire was spreading and we just could not see how the natural flora and fauna of the forests were being eaten by the dreadful fire. I just hope, some heavy rain comes fast to stop the spread of the fire. We also informed the Forest Department about the fire and hope they do something fast to control it and preserve nature.
