Sir Chandrashekhara Venkata Raman (C.V. Raman) was named as 1921 sea voyage scientist for his journey to Europe. He finally discovered Raman scattering which is resulted from Raman effect. He earned Noble prize for physics in 1930 for his invention.
In 1954, Indian Government honored him with Bharat Ratan, highest civilian award of India.
