I am delighted to have this opportunity to have the privilege to share a glimpse on the history of the Republic day.First of all let's know about Republic day. so what's Republic day?
Republic day is an national festival of India . it's celebrated in 26th January every year . the history of Republic day was that after achieving the independence from the British rule on 15th August 1947, India didn't have a permanent constitution though all the laws were based on colonial government of india act . the drafting committee was appointed to draft a permanent constitution. With the help of B. R. ambedkar after many modifications to the constituency, the final draft was signed by 308 members of assemble on 24th January 1950 and two days later on January 26th the constitution came into effect and from that day India bcame a Republic nation .
But why it is important that a country should be a Republic? it matters because it impacts the political culture and helps in balancing the power among the government, parliament and the citizens.
Republic day is often celebrated with colourfully cultural programmes held across the country. To pay tribute to the freedom fighters the prime minister lays a wreath at the amar jawan jyothi at the India gate . the PM unfurls the flag and which is then followed by national anthem immediately by million of Indians.
NOW COMING TO THE POINT
