The eighth Chief Information Commissioner of the Central Information Commission is Radha Krishna Mathur. He has also been the former Defence Secretary. When a seminar was held at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi he administered the oath of office given by the President. The tenure of any CIC will be three years so till 2019 Mr. Mathur will hold the post of commissioner. This commission was set under the Right to Information Act.
