The frog is the critic in the poem. Although he's not a real critic but he pretended to be so.

it is the frog who is critic. he had tortured the nightingale to sing even in unfavourable conditions. he scolds her sings well . he once adviced to puff up her lungs and sing but one of her vein burst and she died . the frog is the critic creature
