Yashwantrao Chavan. Yashwantrao Balwantrao Chavan was the primary Chief Minister of Maharashtra after the division of Bombay State and the fifth Deputy Prime Minister of India. Samyukta Maharashtra Movement was an association that, beginning in 1956, requested the production of a different Marathi-talking state out of the (at that point bilingual) State of Bombay in western India, with the city of Bombay as its capital.
