Answers
Amir Timur was the founder of the Timurid Empire in Persia and Central Asia. He was the first ruler in the Timurid dynasty.
There were many reasons for him to invade India.Some of them were as follows;
Timur like many other conquerors was also very ambitious. He wanted to bring more and more lands under his control.
The huge wealth of India had attracted his attention. Delhi Sultanate was weakening and this gave an opportunity to the Turkish conqueror to fulfill his dream. Timur however had no intention of conquering India or ruling it.
Another object for his invasion was to lead an expedition against the infidels, to convert them to Islam and purify the land itself from the filth and infidelity . By spreading Islam he wanted to acquire the title of ‘Gazi’.
