Captain Swing" was the name appended to several threatening letters during the rural English Swing Riots of 1830, when labourers rioted over the introduction of new threshing machines and the loss of their livelihoods. Captain Swing was described as a hard-working tenant farmer driven to destitution and despair by social and political change in the early 19th century. Plz mark me brainlest

Captain swing was mythical leader of labored poor people who rose to destroy threshing machines in England in 1830. After the battle of Waterloo  ( 1815) the return of sailors and soldiers had swallowed 250000 rural labors. This destroyed the labor market, providing a permanent surplus of labor and reducing the wages of those who could not find work to subsistence level. Captain swing was described as a hard working tenant farmer driven to destitution and despair by social and political change in the early 19th century.
