Germania stands for the nation Germany. Country Germany has been personified as female figure "Germania". She is the allegory of Romantic Revolution.
Similarly , Marianne is the personification of the country France.She stands for France Republic and Goddess of Liberty.

In France the female allegory was Christian Marianne,popular Christian name .She underline the ideas of The people's nation - Her characteristics for drawn from those of Liberty and the Republic- the red cap, the tricolour ,the cockade. Statues of Marianne were elected in public squares to remind the public of the national symbol of unity and to persuade them to identify with it . Marianne images were marked on coins and stamps.
