who were jadidists ?
Answers
Muslim modernist reformers within the Russian empire, is the right answer.
During the late 19th and the early 20th century, the Jadidists were the Muslim modernist reformers in the Russian Empire. Russian impact was particularly firm among certain growing scholars who were the descendants of the wealthy merchant families. Instructed in the regional Muslim institutions, in Russian colleges, or in Istanbul, these people, who appeared to be recognized as the Jadidists, tried to learn from Russia and from refurbishing actions in Istanbul and amongst the Tatars and to use this information to retrieve their country's freedom. The Jadidists considered that their civilization, and even their belief, must be restored and renewed for this purpose to be accomplished.
