Why alkali metals when dissolved in Liquid ammonia give blue solution?

Alkali metal on dissolving in liquid ammonia form Ammoniated Metal ion and Ammoniated electron .  the blue colour of solution is due to ammoniated electrons and conductivity due to both ammoniated metal ion and ammoniated electron.

The blue colour is due to ammoniated electrons which the the alkali metals give on being dissolved in liquid ammonia.
