Alluvial soil is very fertile due to its alluvial that gets renewed every year by the three river systems- the Ganga, the Brahmaputra & the Indus. The younger alluvial called Khadar has more fine particles than Bangar and is more fertile. Added to this the soil has nutrients- phosphoric acid, potash & lime that make it even fertile. So it is the best for cultivation of most crops.
