Why an eraser bends when we press it

basically , an eraser is an elastomer , which means it has the capability to stretch out and deform its shape , and again due to the restoring force acting in the body , it brings the body back to its original shape and size. so in other words , its a bit elastic and shows elasticity upto some extent.
