In our body, appendix is an analogous organ it actually has an evolutionary significance.
At first starting from the australopithicus we ate fruits and plants to digest them appendix was present as a functional organ at that time but as Time flew we began to eat more and more meat then slow we started to decrease eating veggies so appendix became an analogous organ
