Bacteria produce antigens to which specific antibodies are designed. they do not exhibit any change in their antigens.on the other hand viruses exhibit frequent antigenic variations due to which it gets difficult to design an antiviral .the next moment the antibody loses its specificity to the antigen due to rapid antigenic variations exhibited by the viruses
