why are bells made of metals and not of wood

the bells are made of metals despite of wood because metals are sonorous .it produces ringing sound when struck while wood is not having a property of sonorous. so to easily makes hearing of sound of intervals,the bells is made of metals despite of wood

Generally metals are sonorous,except sift metals and non - metals. So bells are made up of metals.
